Hawaii Island - The Big Island

I pretty much arrived on Oahu and hopped right on another plan to the Big Island, Hawaii Island.

We were especially interested in this island because it has active volcanoes.

During the day, all you can really see is steam, though.

In this photo you can see a little tiny spew of lava right near the rim/

But you can still hardly see it.

This area is right by the visitor center.

Which has really great things to say about volcanoes.

We had heard it was a lot more impressive at night.

So we went back to see the same thing several hours later.

And this is what we saw.

And it was.

But my little phone camera did it no justice whatsoever.

We also biked down to the coast to see this.

In case you can't tell,

These are images of lava spewing into the ocean.

In person, it looked more like this

As you can see, my phone did it no justice whatsoever.

But we biked the four miles out

And it was majestic.

My visions of capturing a picture were dashed,

but it was an amazing experience.
